Among the independent performers stretched out along the pier was 9 year old Karoline Protsenko, who played her violin to a recorded background. There were several male adult performers further down the way: flute, guitar, keyboards, etc, all doing the play-along-with-background music thing, but no admirers. Tough to compete with fresh faced sweetness! On the pier, performers may not solicit onlookers for tips, but the young lady had nevertheless, collected a bushel basket of bucks, and quite an enthusiastic following. We spoke to Karolina on a break and found her to be extremely polite and charming. Here's hoping the Goddess of Miley Cyrus does not descend as puberty erupts! Karolina

I will admit I was totally distracted by how empty the pier is. The one time I went there, it had at least 20 times more people than in that video.
