It may not exist, but I'm on the hunt.

I have trochanteric bursitis (hip joints) and walking can be a real pain ... if you know what I mean.

I find that icing up the hip joints before going on my morning exercise walk helps.
But how great would it be if I had a pair of pants with a pocket directly on top of the complaining hip, so I could drop a frozen gel-pack in there to keep the freeze through my whole walk?

With my jeans, the pockets position the gel-pack more towards the front of my thigh, away from the hip.
With cargo pants, the cargo pocket is in the correct orientation along the leg, but much too low to be of any use for my purpose.

So ... a pair of pants with the wide cargo pocket at the height of a regular pocket, but oriented along the side of the leg.

Anyone? Anyone?

Typical Cargo Pants

You'll probably need to find a seamstress who can add a pocket to your existing clothes.

If it were me, I'd have some walking shorts permanently modified with internal pouch pockets.

Another way would be a 6" long strip of fuzzy Velcro about an inch wide, sewn horizontally into the inside just below the waist line on each side. That way, a small pouch with a corresponding piece of hooky Velcro could be placed in just the right spot to get the gel pack right where you need it.

I've seen arm and leg compression sleeves that go in the freezer, but not a hip. The wearable ones for hips are clearly not for activity. I think MJB and Peegoo have the best answers.

Right idea but looks uncomfortable for walking.

Stick the icepack in one of your IWB holsters.

I hear Kroil is great for removing frozen nuts.

If you ever need it.

How about a couple of "fanny packs" slung sideways? Not fashionable, mebbe, but might position the ice where you need it + they're cheap.

Hang a pouch from your belt with a Velcro strap at the bottom. Send me the dimentions of the ice pack and I sew one up for you from a section of scrap blue jean leg,

Once Gato has test driven one, I see commercial potential, here: "Doctor Hushnel's Hip Helper", available in Spandex, tooled leather and camo duck canvas.

Yeah, use a frozen water bladder and you can hydrate as the ice melts.

I’m full of it, ain’t I.

I'm wondering if this could be a good time to bring back the codpiece -- targeting the hipster crowd. You know, an accessory to their skinny jeans?

Imagine how ironic a female or someone in transition could pretend to be if they sport an empty codpiece?

I could make them available only in exchange for crypto currency to up the cool factor.

I could make a bazillion bitcoins with this caper.

What’s bitcoin worth these days?

You might be better off trading codpieces for actual cod.
