I have a Gretsch 5230t. I would like to swap the Bigsby B50 with a B70 (which I do not have yet). Other than adding screw holes at the tail, are the bolt patterns the same?

Do the B70 and B7 have identical bolt patterns?

All the B7s I have seen have four mounting holes and a large cutout for the end pin. The B70s have three mounting holes, one of which takes the end pin screw. So no, not the same, at least on current models.

Maybe I was not clear, are the bolt patterns on the top the same? Can I use the holes which mount the B50 to mount the B70 (or B7) ? It appears that the B70 (or B7) will cover 2 out of 4 of the B50 mounting holes.
My apologies if this is confusing. I am probably overthinking this.

I understand the difference at the tail between the B7 and B70.

Whether any of the existing top holes can be used depends on where the B50 was mounted on the guitar, they are located at the discretion of the builder.

Based on a sample of one B7, the distance from the end pin end of the guitar to the bass side hole is 5.43", 6.70" for the treble side hole, and the width between them is 2.78" measured perpendicular to the guitar centerline.
