I sent all the pics to fender. I have also Googled this model number to no avail.

They basically said they have no idea and that it may be a prototype.

The serial number is particularly low. CS1000005.

Here is a link to pics.

Any ideas?

Fender never issued a classical guitar in their California Series acoustics. They're all steel string flat tops.

What you have is a counterfeit. If you bought that from a store and they sold it to you as a Fender, they ripped you off because they should know better.

Give 'em a call, be nice, and explain you made your purchase choice largely on the fact that it was a Fender-brand guitar.

Which it is not. You should get your money back.

This situation is all too common these days because China (mostly China) is turning out a lot of counterfeit Fenders, Gibsons, and other name brands. Some are very good copies. Some are total junk. Most are somewhere in the middle.

And buyers like you get suckered. Only after the purchase does any homework get done.

As always, buyer beware.
