I like bursts and I have several. Fender, Guild, Ibanez, Gibson. Bursts just look classy.

"I like Cherry burst on Les Paul's but it seems a poor choice for Fenderish shaped guitar bodies to me for some reason."

I've always thought this, too. Then Fender released the standard plus top Strats. That got me to rethink it a little as they offer a Cherry Burst.

I'm building a Strat for myself, right now, and it's a Cherry Burst. With the right pickguard it is really pretty awesome, IMO. The wife and I are both eager to see it finished. I'm also building one to sell. I'll try my luck with this outlier Stat color scheme.

I like burst enough that I even modded one of my Seikos!

Not mine, but the one I did is almost identical

Of all the guitars that i currently own or have owned, the top of my Gibson Nancy Wilson Nighthawk looks the best.

The coloring and the flame is just magnificent.

And as you can see from my profile, I have more than a few guitars....

And, as a BIG plus, this guitar sounds pehenomenal through my Fender '57 Custom Champ.

Like everything in this world, personal taste? I have a Gibson Les Paul Standard Koa top with a tea burst and always enjoy looking at it.

I like the Bass I put together (Warmoth) a while back.

It's Black Korina and as a whole I really like the result.

I like it enough that I have a *dream* of building a regular six string to match one day. I say dream since I have far too much on my plate at the moment to get real excited, but one day it may happen.

G5 Tobacco Burst ... (Warmoth site PIC)

It's odd that sunbursts are popular on guitars and basses, but you've never seen this paint scheme on a car.

Until now!

Geno, I like that a lot better than many of the custom paint jobs I regularly see on cars.

Hmmm, Tobacco Burst 54 F100? Now there's a thought.

It does look cool. That car needs a CSB Les Paul leaning against the front bumper.
