My pointy headstock wang-bar Ibanez RG5EX1L.

I bought it on eBay a few years ago NOS. I had visions of returning to my ‘80s rock roots. That never panned out.

I actually made $10 and got a free case out of the deal as it came in a case when I bought it, which I did not include in the sale. It’s one of those lightweight Roadrunner cases.

Now I have an empty wall-hanger.

Great! We took a poll and decided your next project is to build a SHB.

Oh!

It's on the list.

After Mike's guitar I've got two set-neck kits to assemble. One is a Mahogany Explorer and the other is a LP with a spaulted maple top. The Explorer is just going to get Mahogany stain.

They are inexpensive kits and I bought them on-sale on Reverb. I'm not expecting a whole lot. They're more for the learning experience.

You can often turn a cheap DIY kit into a seriously good guitar with some planning, careful work, and not a whole lot of extra money spent.

The important things are correct geometry and leveling/polishing the frets as goodly as possible.

Better tuners, pickups, and pots can come later, because even the cheepie stuff these days is 'good enough' to get a guitar working properly.
