FDP Forum / Fender Guitars: Stratocasters / Body routing, SSS versus HSS, are they interchangeable?

I wasn't sure whether to put this here or in the Guitar Mods area.

What I'd like to do is have a couple of different pickguards, one a SSS and the other a HSS. The idea is to swap them in/out of the same body.

Anybody ever done or tried this?
If I have a Strat body routed for HSS (or HSH), is this do-able?
Will the angled bridge pickup for the SSS fit in the HSS bridge cavity?
The other concern is routing depth for the humbucker.
Any other issues?

(Note that I didn't mention the bodies with a swimming pool routing.)

Thanks in advance.

Edited to add:
I'm thinking of doing this to a MIM, probably 2000 or later depending upon what I can find on CL for cheap.
Doing a little research it appears that the MIM "standard" models since the 90's may have HSS routing.
It appears that the only ones with the swimming pool are/were MIA versions.

Yes, that will work. I’m sitting here looking at two Strats right now - one HH and one SSS. The distance from the closest point of the bridge single coil to the trem is exacty the same as it is on the non-angled HH guitar.

With a HSS body the H rout would be deeer than the S rout because of the mounting ears, I would think. Any ways, I don’t think it would be an issue.

Personally, if I have a guitar that I think I’m going to flip-flop pickguards between, I like the swimming pool. I’m fact, I just built a double fat Strat with just such a rout. It’s about weight reduction.

This Double Fat Strat I just built is 7lbs. 4 oz.
