What ever you do... don't run with it!

Someone'll loose an eye for sure!!!

It's "V"-ery pointy ;^)

That's one body style I've never been attracted to, but if you're happy, we're happy!
Congrats.

LOL at Mick.
I would love to play a "V" style someday.
I have a left handed B.C. Rich Mockingbird that's a little "neck heavy." How comfortable are the "V" style?

I bought the strap that made sense. Half black, half red.

I do know that sitting and playing a V is not all that doable.

"Uhhhh... negative ghost rider."

What if I pay for it???

But you'd have to obey FDP Rule #37...

This guitar arrives tomorrow.

It's not my only acquisition, lately. There are others in other forums. (-;

I’m so glad I bought this! It is beyond cool.

And now I see why MS often has the V riding on a leg. That even works well sitting.

The setup out of the exceptional packaging was prettty good and almost in tune. The nut is plastic, but it is actually cut correctly. I won’t need to get my files out.

Fit and finish is excellent.

It weighs 6lbs 13oz. Neck is comfortable and is not scrawny, although it’s not Gibson beefy either.

Of course, the pots are backwards.

I bridge pickup is bright and hot. Ohming it out I found it to be 15k.

When I restring it I’ll pull that half of the pickguard and fix the pots. I just ordered a pair of B&W Seymour Duncans on Reverb. A ‘59 and a Jazz. I’ve never had that set before but I’ve heard great tones from them.

I have never liked any of the pickups that have come in any Dean guitar I’ve bought.

"Of course, the pots are backwards."

They're not backwards. The wiring on them is :o)

Flip any righty schematic, and you'll have properly-wired vol and tone pots. Works best with linear pots. Audio taper pots are a different story tho.

Woody,

Nah! This looks pretty nice with the black/white. But that is GAS-inducing, none-the-less. Like I need help with that. I have a double fat Strat PG in my PG box in red pearloid that would work nice with those.

Gooer,

We pretty much have to rewire any sub-$1000 (new price) guitar. Sometimes even further up the food chain. It's the tone pots that are the problem. You get no change until the very end of the pot. Then - mud.

Back in the '80s (before public innerwebs) I just thought that tone controls on guitars were a poorly executed joke. They never worked and I never bothered with them.

Pickups installed today. I replaced all the electronics. Right down to installing a PureTone jack.

This is my first experience with SD pickups. I had a Schecter, years ago, that had SD Designed pickups installed. It had the copy of the Jazz neck (which I liked) and a copy of the JB in the bridge (which I did not care for at all).

I've heard a lot of SH1s ('59) but never played one until today. I love the tones out of this guitar now! The bridge pickup rocks hard in vintage fashion.
