I'm really excited to have written some songs, recorded them and released 5 of them as an EP. Hearing your songs on spotify and other places is a real thrill. I've got the songwriting bug for sure. How many of you write with others as opposed to writing by yourself? Up to now I've written everything by myself but thought writing with someone might be fun!

I usually wrote by myself for many years. But about 5 years ago I met someone who approached me and asked if I was interested in collaborating. She wrote lyrics and melodies, which I would arrange and add to, as well as her singing and adding to a few songs that I would write. It was an amazing partnership, and I felt lucky to have it. It's really nice having someone else bounce ideas off of, because they will inevitably have something different to add that you would never have thought of. Or sometimes, they're right in line with what you're thinking, and that is also gratifying. She ended up not having enough time any more unfortunately, but those were some of the most creative and challenging times for my songwriting, and I really grew from it.

Thats what I was thinking - I'm told that most all the hits you hear today are co-writes and what you say makes sense. Thanks for your input!
