FDP Forum / Fender Amps: Vintage (before 1985) / fuse values for '66 Vibrolux Reverb?

Hi Fender Crew,

The fuse blew in my '66 VR. I believe it was the original Littel Fuse (looks different from current LF fuses).

The blown fuse was 2amp 125volt. I ordered NOS LF fuses from an eBay seller. Instead of the ordered 2amp 125volt fuses, I was sent 2amp 250volt fuses.

Is it safe to use the 250volt fuse?

Not gonna do anything til I hear back from you Fender amp experts.

Thanks for any help you can give, Rod

The amp takes 2 amp slo blo fuses. The voltage doesn't matter as long as it is equal or greater than line voltage.

And it's critical to use the slo-blo type because these amps can pull a high transient current on power-up that will pop a regular fast-acting fuse of the correct rating.

You can tell the difference between a fast-acting and a slo-blo

by looking at the internal fusible link.
