New Old Guitar.

I purchased this bee-u-t-ful lady, a month or so ago, from our own, BlackSunshine. Thank you again, sir.

I had it, and a Tele, at a repair shop in Lawrence, Kansas. (About an hour and 20 minutes from my house)
Mass Street Music...it’s a dangerous place to walk through! Guitars everywhere!

Strat had a new jack installed, the frets dressed, a good cleaning inside and out, and a great setup.

It plays and feels great. Great sound! 20 years ago or so, I had one and loved it. Sadly I had to let it go. So getting this one is like old home week.

83 Strat

Glad I could search all over for creation for it just to store it for you for a decade.

Grrrr......

Just kidding, hope you enjoy it!

Unfortunately for me I never got around to getting it into my rotation, so it was time to let it go to someone that would appreciate it.

Results not typical.

Do not try this at home.

When I got it it wasn't NEAR that yellowed, supposedly it started it's life as vintage white, according to the previous owner.

Crazy how fast some finishes age.

Guess it was that 3 packs of cigarettes a day and all the beer I spilled on it.

LOL

Kidding, I don't smoke and it never left my closet.

It's a great color with the maple neck. One of my all time favorite color combos.

I took it to practice Wed. evening. It plays well and sounds well...not to mention, it weighs 7.1 lbs. My Baja Tele weighs 7.6 and that's my heaviest.

Blacksunshine, I really can't thank you enough for letting it go. It will get plenty of playtime, that's for sure.

My hand and fingers love the 12” radius...as I remember they did 20 years ago with the first 83.

Very cool, Jim. I have to rely on my memory which isn't all that great. I remember the pickups were great and I especially liked the bridge pup.

I'm doing well thank you, sir. I got away from guitars several years ago and have just picked up another Strat and I've been spending a lot of time practicing over the last week.

How are you doing?

Great to hear from you.

I'm still alive although I keep having heart attacks. Three so far in the last ten years.

I'm doing well though. Playing in the church worship band for the last 8 years.

Be careful with that heart. I had a triple when I was 45. That was 18 years ago. Life changes after heart surgery, eh?

Oh yeah, I have 3 stents.

The attacks seem to hurt more each time. Orrrr, it could be, not saying it is, that I’m older? I’m “getting older”, is a good one.

Man, you were young. Glad you stuck around.

Guitar is good therapy for a lot of things.

Played the 83 in church today. I liked the sound a lot. The bridge pickup held it's own for lead things. Used all three pickups actually. Very nice. The 12" radius was good for my fingers.

I have had a 1983 Strat since I bought it new in 1983. It's my favorite player and I have a few nice guitars.

stl, that’s great. And to think, it’s still your favorite.
I can see why. That’s why I bought this one because the one I had years ago haunted me until I got another.
