I had another thread about the lost BJr tube restraint spring.
I think the power tubes got bumped and the spring popped off.
I reinstalled the new spring.
However, when I next used the amp it was crackling and hissing.
Tapping the power tubes tiggers the crackling.
Tube socket damage?

Perhaps. If a tube got bumped it can damage the socket contacts and/or loosen the tube's pins.

I brought it to my amp tech and he needed to re-solder something related to the sockets. Back to normal.

That's good news!



I wonder what came loose.

If I had to guess, I would say the tube sockets needed re-tensioning.
