I agree with some of the choices on the list, but not all.

Oh well, to each, his own.

How do you pick just 20?

Interesting list, and yes I think there are omissions.

Further than that, I think all of us know some local musicians who are way better than a lot of "famous" musicians, and they may not even be considered a professional musician. I believe that those that achieve "greatest" or celebrity status are not necessarily the best, but it is those who are really driven to "make it" in the biz and who are willing to put up with all the non-musical nonsense that it takes to get there.

I hope I haven't skewered anyone's hero.

At least one of these guys should be on that list:
Flea
Jack Bruce
Billy Sheehan
Pino Palladino

I can assure you that my indignation was aimed at the poll, not at you, Lewis: far be it from me to kill the messenger!

agreed, the list is pretty idiosyncratic in its selections. But it does have a cool photo of Macca with a J-Bass!

Who wrote the article? I didn't see a by line. Looks like the work of a junior staffer with Google and a few personal favorites.

I would have to put Bootsy Collins on there too. He's a great funk player.

Interesting group, at least 5 I've never heard of before.

Glad to see Family Man Barrett in there!

I agreed with 6 out of the 20. Surprised they left Jack Bruce, Getty Lee, as some others.
