FDP Forum / Fender Amps: 1985 - Current / Fender Mustang GT40: How to Make it Sound Great - What the Manual Doesn’t Tell You

Like many, I was a bit frustrated at the initial sound coming out of my Fender GT40 amp. But with a bit of experimentation and learning, I have my Fender GT40 sounding spectacular. I’ve posted an article on how to get the best sound out of a Fender Mustang GT40. It includes 18 tips on how to make the amp sound its best – stuff the manuals don’t tell you. I’ve also mapped out all 109 presets- the amps used, the cabs used, the effects used and in what order. This preset map is available as a downloadable spreadsheet – the link is provided in the article. And if you don’t want to read the article online, there’s a link to a PDF version at the top of the online article URL, found below.
Hope this article helps some of you. And, I’d be curious to hear of other’s sound tips to get the best sound of this little mighty-mite.

Thanks, you put a lot of work into that. Very interesting read, even if I don’t own one.

Pinetree, I'm convinced:
