Alone in my principles

I really like the new Fender Player Strat. One of the area GC's had a lefty in stock. It was polar white, with a maple neck. We've come a long way from being able to choose any color, as long as it was black.
The "C" shaped neck is my favorite. The upgraded pickups sounded exceptional, and a new feature is a dedicated tone knob for the bridge pickup.
At $674, it is more expensive than a MIM, and doesn't come with a gig bag.

These do seem to be a nice step up from the old MiM Standards. They’re way overdue. There are some great colors too.

These are the best Strats to come along in years. The A5 pickups sound fantastic.

I played a few, and the quality was as good as a USA-made Strat. Worth the money.

If I wanted a Strat I’d have one. I’ve got two that are all the Strat I want.

MIM's have really gone up in price. I paid $350 for my Tele way back when. After installing new pickups, it's a tone machine.

I've come to the realization that I'm just not a Strat guy. I have my Carvin Bolt that scratches the itch, but even that's not often.

I'm not a traditional "Strat guy" either--but it's strictly down to ergonomics. I'm not a fan of the volume control right under the bridge pickup.

So I stick a plug in that hole and move the volume pot down one. Gives me a single vol and a single tone.

On one of my Strats I moved it away from the pickup screw and in line with the other two knobs. One the other I "deleted" it when I ordered the pickguard and just went with a volume and a tone.

There’s a sonic red player Strat on Reverb right now for $400.
