It took longer than I planned, but it's d-u-n done!

Overall I'm pretty pleased with result. There were definitely some mistakes made and challenges that I had to overcome (or just accept) but it feels good, plays well and sounds great!

There are some cosmetic issues, but you can't see 'em from *your* house!

This is my first guitar with mini-hb's and so far I really like them. They're Wilkinson alnico 5's with vintage output. They sound great clean, but kick in a distortion pedal and holy crap!!!

I did wire in a high-pass filter on the neck which I have pretty much done with every neck HB I've ever had. I guess I can't get that single coil neck pickup sound out of my head...

Anyway, here it is:

MRCPRS-ish

Thanks Tellurium.

I'm not sure how to interpret that symbol at the end though...

It has an odd resemblance to a different text-speak symbol.

Nice, Mick! Reminds me of some of the guitars Baker puts out. I like the color too.

Thanks Geno!
This one was real... "educational" IYKWIM!
A couple lessons in what *not* to do...

I'm so glad it wound up being a player. It would have sucked if it turned out being a tone turd. (a term coined by you!)

That's beautiful!

The neck inlays are very cool!

"The neck inlays are very cool!"

Tinkerer, I can't take credit for those. It is a pre-made neck as part of a kit, but cheers anyway!

Thanks Leftee! You & I must have posted at the same I was thanking Peegoo, so 'tanks' to you also!
When are you going get onto your set-neck builds?

I dunno. I’ve gotten busy with other stuff, lately. And I’m playing a bit more too. I’ve put down the tools for a little bit.

"I’ve put down the tools for a little bit."

Leftee, that was going to be my plan also, but I have a brand new neck on the bench looking for a levelling :^)
I want to put it on one of my strat builds from 2017 so it's not full-on project.
And then I have the hardtail...

Oh, who am I kidding!!!

Thanks Bob & Aaron.

"The inlay is tripping me out."

I have to admit, it was selling point when I was choosing between the different kits!

The more I play it, the more I'm enjoying it.
Despite the alluded challenges, I have to say the fret and nut work on this is by far my best, and the intonation is as near to "perfect" as I've seen in in a while.

Well, I fibbed a little. I have a beater Strat body on the way and I bought a couple of lefty Strat necks from StewyMac (Mighty Mite) as they were blowing them out. I’m going to cobble together a Strat out of my parts stash.
