I've got a mahogany strat (was a special run for GC I think) with this pickup combo, and it's very sweet, but not much character beyond that. Looking for a set with a bit more bite & harmonics in the bridge and a little more edge in the mid & neck as well. Wondering if the Duncan Pearly Gates would be too honky? Looking for less mids than the Diamondback & T-M. TIA

I also have a mahogany Deluxe strat with the HSS configuration and S-1 switching. I purchased it new at GC in 2005. The guitar was part of a GC special run by Fender. I was never happy with the sound. I was under the impression that the pickups were Bill Lawrence/Fenders, however, when I provided my serial number to Fender, they informed me the pickups were Tex-Mex. The pickups have no character and are far from the classic Fender sound. Looking to replace and am looking at the Mojotone '58s. Does anyone have any recommendations for loaded pickguard with an HSS configuration?
