Huge fun here with power chords. Very cool stuff... and a take on Hotel California that, to my mind, is how it shoulda been done the first time around.

Great presentation! I laughed out loud at the Metallica parody.

I'm a huge fan of the root/fifth dyad. When playing rock with others, I'll usually switch to these forms during verses and solos to create more 'room' in the mix to give vocals and solos a bit more punch.

Nuttin wrong with em! I'll check the video out.

You even see them pop up in jazz from time to time. It's a good "strong" and "direct" sound.

The best power chords are 3 notes. Pumping open E and A strings along with the appropriate power chord is the essence of metal.

I really like the part where he plays the diad and has another guitar playing the 3rds. Love the way it makes resulting chord come from all over the room.
