The second one of these is in process.

Disregard the tuners on the neck. Those came with the neck, but I have a set of black tuners to go on it.

The neck is a Warmoth Pao Ferro neck with SS frets. I found it (with tuners) on Reverb for a great price. It's their slim profile. I'm not sure that this is the final neck for this guitar.

The back of the body is Walnut.

My stain job on the spaulted maple came out better. I used all alcohol-cut dye this time. No water. And I took it slower and drier when applying the dye. There are several coats of tung oil applied. I will polish it out.

It's going to get the same hardware as the last one - black with gold screws, etc.

Nice! I'm not typically a fan of a matching headstock but I can envision it on this guitar.

NICE work as usual, Leftee.

Did you wipe on that 'burst? It looks great. Not easy to do!

One of the things about this guitar... it’s weight. The body is heavy. The PF neck is also heavy. This body might be better-finished with a roasted maple neck.

I haven’t weighed it as it is shown, above. I’d bet it’s close to 8lbs. with no hardware.

I did order a roasted maple neck for this. A boatneck with Azurite Malachite dots. It shipped Tues. Here’s hoping it gets here by the weekend.

The package weighs 2 lbs. which means the neck will weight something less than that. I haven’t weighed this pao ferro neck, but it is hefty.

Nice Leftee!

I also noticed how well the burst came up. Good work.

Is the body walnut timber, or just walnut stain?
And where did you get it?

My latest build (hardtail strat) has stalled a bit. More like a unanticipated left turn. (no offence!)

Didn't we say a while ago we were "done with building for a while"??? HAH!!!

It's Walnut. I found these bodies on Reverb - out of Canada.

Here are some updated pics with the new neck. It's not wired of set up yet.
