you lay it down. I'll pick it up again!

Have a mid 90s MIM Jazz Bass would like to upgrade the pickups. It has 2 identical pickups measuring 3 5/8"(3.65) by 3/4"(.75) with screw spacing 1 9/16 (1.55)
These seem to be about the dimensions of neck pickups(according to Seymour Duncan spec), but with slightly different screw spacing.
Any have any experience swapping out pickups on one of these.

I swapped DiMarzio DP-123s in a Jazz clone (not a Fender) and am happy with them. They have individually-adjustable pole pieces and can be ordered as either a dimensionally-identical pair or as a dimensionally-mismatched pair (as some Fenders are: this has varied over time). Be sure to specify which you want.

Neck pickups were required in both positions when I changed pickups in a MIM Urge Standard. My understanding is that is usually, if not always, the case for MIMs with J pickups.

Sorry Rick, Just saw your post after I posted this.MIM JAZZ Basses prior to early 2000's used same size pickup in both positions unlike newer that use the standard fender size (larger bridge and slightly shorter Neck pickup)

You can use two Neck pickups. If you want the bridge pickup to be slightly hotter than the neck then get one pickup that is overwound for the bridge

No problem, Bubbalou. Someone has posted while I was typing more than once. It's a real good day if that's the worst thing that happens.
