Hello,

What a tele, is it worth buying the Players Classic Deluxe Tele?

Or should I buy a 1994 40th Anniversary Strat? Its a regular American Standard strat with the 40th Anniversary decals and neck plate.
It is 799.99 The Deluxe Tele is 789.99.

I play stuff like The Cure, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, Cocteau Twins, New Order, etc.

Either one will serve you well to cover those bands' sounds.

The decision point for me would be the following:

Is the vibrato on the Strat necessary for my playing style? It's only an additional $10 over the cost of the Tele.

Also, there are several models of Tele that have "Player" "Deluxe" and "Classic" in the name. Some models are standard single-coil pickups. Some have P90s. Some are humbuckers. Some are a mix of pickup types. Some are solid, and some are semi-hollow.

All these features change the tonal personality of the Tele platform. One kind of pickup is not necessarily "better" than another, and all types of pickups can be used for all types of music. It all comes down to which sound (tonal personality of the guitar) appeals most to you.

The guitar that sounds best to you will inspire you to play more...and that is why we play in the first place.

Enjoy the hunt for your next tone beast!

Thank you

Its the Deluxe Tele with two tele pick ups and a strat pickup in the middle.

Third option is a Squier Jazzmaster or MIM Jazzmaster.

Get the guitar that sounds best and has the color you like best.

The next step is to have a pro setup done. There is absolutely nothing better you can do (other than practice) to make you a better guitar player and get your sound the best it can possibly be.

A setup is the best $50-$80 you'll ever spend because it will make your guitar play easily and sound great because it will play in tune.

A 3-pickup Tele can do most of what a Strat can do, but a Strat cannot easily cover a Tele's versatility.
