Anyone see a flaw in my plan?
Use a .022 mid cap and use the bright switch to add another .022 cap to the mid circuit.
Don't see why it won't work other than adding a few inches of unshielded wire.
cheers

It should work fine but with a big pop when the switch closes. Due to both plates of the cap charging up to the plate Vdc when the switch is open.
Eliminate most of the pop by connecting a resistor (eg 1M) across the switch terminals.
