When I had vintage Fenders I commonly put a 1-ohm resistor to measure the bias from pin 8 which went to ground on the chassis from each power tube. On the TRRI, there is a yellow wire that connects two of the tubes and another yellow that goes to the circuit board. This is repeated for the other "pair". Is it still possible to insert a 1-ohm resistor into this?

From how you describe it, that seems feasible; bear in mind that each resistor would be sampling 2 tubes, so the mV across will be twice that of a single tube, all else being equal.
