Ok I've had my fun modding an AB165
Marshall mods.. Train wreck no#3 Master volume, you name it.

Even broke out the tone stack calculator and played around with the tone stacks.

But... It's back to business, back to stock. These amps are legendary for a reason. After all the playing/monkeying around in it.... w/ 2 days of noodling with the amp in its "returned to stock" format IMO... It's a beautiful amp the way it was created. Like a fine painting, when I added something to it or took something away.... in the end, some of the magic went away. I did leave in a 3 way negative feedback switch (from the old ground switch) and two 20k mids pots mounted in the back ...

Everything is stock looking at the front. And the tone stacks are stock

It was a Nice experiment, I have a new found appreciation for the guys at Fender who designed those classic amps.

Quite similar to Marshalls of the day. Lots of people modded them. Now people put them back to their original glory.
