Posting in the Strat forum as I thought maybe it would get the most traffic. The new MIM series is across the board - Strat, Tele, JM, Jaguar, Mustang, bass.

A variety of specs, it seems, including both vintage and more modern.

One thing caught my eye - a Jazzmaster in ice blue metallic with matching headstock, and Jag in ocean turquoise, also with matching headstock. I’ve always thought Fender didn’t offer that option enough.

I'm interested in the 60's Strat model, but God knows why, considering all the Strats I already have. Damn you Fender! (;oD

It seems like an over-saturated market.

If they offered a Fiesta Red Tele or Strat with a rosewood board I might be interested.

I think there are some interesting offerings in this lineup, but I must admit the pricing gives me pause. Seems kind of steep for MIM with soft bags.

The Fender Vintera '70s Telecaster Deluxe - Mocha, egads. Used toilet paper brown, big clunky 70's Strat headstock. 3 bolt neck.

Exactly like the guitar I used on my first paying gig. I'm not saying I want it. But I want it.

It wasn’t that long ago when American Standards were in this price range.

If you go to fender.com and then Stratocasters there are 60! unique models - not colors etc but distinct models. Too much choice ... looks like they are following Gibson before the new CEO.

I know right? (:oD

Note to self: why the hell are you STILL looking at Strats?!

In my defense, I've recently purchased a Parallel Universe Thinline Deluxe Tele and a couple of Gretsch guitars AND . . . another Strat (but it was used and a pretty cheap MIM Roadhouse model!). HELP ME! [voice of that guy in the film The Fly when he's caught in a spider web] (:oD

I would have appreciated these ten years ago instead of the classic MIM series. I saw Fender's video on the Vintera Strats. The sound embodied what I don't like about modern F's off the line - thin, pinched and lacking depth.

I will forever be chasing the haunting sounds of the oldies.

Heck, even my 1960 NOS didn't have it.

Just so I am not ultra-poo-poo, they do LOOK good.

With Gibson’s revitalization with their new ownership, maybe we’re seeing a new “arms war”. I’m somewhat intrigued by the 50s Tele Modified because they claim it has a chunky neck and 9.5” profile. A bit pricey, though, as other have noted.

....well, there IS a '70s Telecaster Custom in Fiesta Red w/ Pau Ferro Fingerboard, which gets you close enough to rosewood...

I really should stop looking too. I'm still trying to convince myself that I already have all the Strats that I need. I've never had a Tele before, however. Hmmm....

^ I saw that skyblue.

Unfortunately the thin C neck is a deal breaker. That's the only reason I sold my Classic Vibe Tele. I'm also not a fan of the 3 bolt neck.
