It got me to thinking about setting up one closer to the middle of the State or here in North Central FL. Depending on FDP local interest. I’m probably over thinking it and way to optimistic concerning interest and attendance.

I have a few options, one is my buddies property 1,800 acres or so west of Ft. Pierce FL, with plenty of camping and motels at the I-94 Ft. Pierce Exit, A great open faced building protected from the weather. Or maybe here in Suwannee County at the State park with an open air auditorium or building with a full kitchen and available camping, 4 or 5 cabins available depending on the time of year.

Either of these venues could easily handle up to a couple hundred FDPers, yeah I am overthinking it. I’ve never been to a FDP jam with more than 15 players.

My email is alway on, I’ll open this idea to the forum at large once I think it through a little better. I’ve already spoken with Brownie, my mandolin player who is a State Park Ranger at Stephen Foster State Park, were I volunteer at. He thinks it would be possible, camping spots could be elusive certain times of the year, but plenty of places/buildings to play. It is a music park, on the Suwannee River, encompassing a good sections of the Florida Trail. Registered camping sites can be booked solid in the cooler months but I know I could get us some primitive sites not usually open to the public.

Yeah, I’m over thinking it. It would nice to have no regulations or time/stage restrictions on a weekend of jamming.

I live in Port Charlotte, about 100 miles south of Tampa. I would definitely be interested!

OK, that’s a good drive to Suwannee County, not bad to Ft. Pierce.

We used to have a pretty good jam in Delray Beach at Elwoods BBQ.

Hey hushnel, We'll meet at the jam in Atlanta. I'm starting a new job covering GA and FL (instead of the whole southeast). So I would be up for a FL jam, schedule permitting.
