I've had a brand new G5220 (lefty) come in for a set-up and general post-factory tweakage.

It's one of the MIC models (I'm still learning the product range etc) it's the Dark Cherry Metallic which is a pretty sweet colour. Good finish.

Fret ends were a bit sharp, so fixed those up.
Nut action was a little high so I re-cut that and re-shaped the top.

String action was a bit high too. Got it down a good 20% on the bass side and 25% on the treble side with no buzzing. Intonation was pretty close, will fine tune tomorrow (new strings today). Relief was spot on.

All in all it's quite a nice guitar. It's a shame it's a lefty 'cause I can't really give it good run without sounding like wire caught in a blender.

This is the fourth lefty I've done for this guy and he's been very happy, so I must be doing something right despite being righty :^)

The tone pots won’t work correctly because they didn’t use reverse audio taper pots. So there’s that.

I have one of these and I like it a lot.

Nice job! It’s great he’s found you. (-:

Yes, that's true. If I was able to actually *play* the dang thing, it probably would bother me, but that's beyond the scope of what the customer asked for.

I'd be happy to replace all the pots for him.... for a price ;^)

I suspect he is one of the many many lefties (Leftees???) that just puts up with it because you guys gets what you gets :^(

Actually the tone pots *may* work correctly. Remember: Mick is in Oz, where things spin backwards. 🤪
