Pretty much a build from spare parts and cheap parts - when I needed to purchase parts.

The body is some cheap no-name body I found in Reverb. Neck is Mighty Mite. Pickups are Artec AlNiCos - low-output wind with oversized pole pieces.

The tuners are from an old SX guitar I bought many years ago. I've had them hanging around forever.

Because why not!?!

Sure, why not?! A "Blackie" Strat is always nice to have around. Looks good.

The pickups are pretty sweet. I’ve become a fan over the oversized pole pickup. There’s just a bigger tone, but it’s not hotter, if that makes sense.

Well said. Lol

It would never be worthwhile to sell this contraption. And that’s ok.

You've been a busy boy!

Pretty cool.
I probably have enough parts (except for a body) to build a junk-o-caster, but I suspect some the parts wouldn't necessarily be up to spec, so I'd end up buying new ones.
Kind of defeats the purpose :^)

If irritation occurs

discontinue use.

Be careful...sometimes you assemble a guitar from junque parts, and because the planets were in proper alignment, the guitar plays and sounds fantastic.

Next thing you do is upgrade something on it, and you might kill its mojo.

It IS a lot of fun!

That's how Clapton's Blackie came to be.

I’ll bet it didn’t have two neck shims. 🙃
