I am thinking it is one effect or another but I am pretty dense.... Flange? Univibe? I am recording this song in an attempt to better my understanding of recording. I have the bass and drum track ala YT backing track, just an old man farting around with a bunch of stuff that is over my head.

I have Mixcraft 8 Pro and I am using my Katana 50 plugged straight in and it works very well. Best setup I have ever had.

Sorry bout that

Uni-vibe eh? Okay, thank you! I will work with my settings and see what I can come up with.

Why do I keep fixing things that work?

I haven't tried the Uni-Vibe setting on my Katana Artist yet but it has good quality effects and the Uni-Vibe is there, so it will be fun dialing that one up and give it a go.
Hope it sounds as authentic as the video.
I play some Trower stuff and have been using a real Uni-Vibe, so I can get a sideside-by-side comparison to try and achieve the same range of effects.
Stay tuned folks, this amp is amazing on many levels.

What effect is he using?
You mean besides the (most likely) vintage Les Paul and the wall of Ampegs?

I watched the video carefully hoping to get a glimpse of something......anything.

I remember a very old interview with him in Guitar Player, and I think that he said that he used an MXR Phase 100.
This is all a big maybe, though.
