I've never owned or used a SS amp in my life always tubes. But now in my retirement I've been experimenting with simple SS none modeling amps.. I bought a Roland JC22 and can't believe how great it sounds! it adds a sweet type mid hump to the tele along with with cleans to die for.

The power of the amp Gods compels you!

Forgive him, he knows not what he say.

Kidding aside, use what works! My friend is a pro player for his dad's touring band(he's a country legend still gigging in his late 80s) and he swears by the Quilter stuff. Totally reliable, great sounds, lots of power, super light weight. What's not to like?

Yeah I've noticed a lot of country players using SS amps especially pedal stele players.
I mean I would never get rid of my silverface amps but right now im loving this JC.

Huge Quilter fan here.

Been playing one for a few years, and it is the one I drag out of the house when I go out to play. It's a 1x8 combo that weighs about 25 lbs. Guitarists look at it and ask, "what IS that amp?"

It does get loud and sounds huge for as small and light as it is.

Pat Quilter explains his approach to reproducing that classic response here:

"Bacon fat."

Roland has always made a great SS amps.

Back in the mid-90s used a JC120 in a jazz quartet.. that is a great amp for jazz... One of the best IMO.

Those quilters have mega power in their designs. My friend a using a Quilter head and man he blew out some 100 watt speakers like it was nothing.

Gotta be careful with the tone block!

A Tele and a Jazz Chorus is a match made in heaven, in my experience.
