I only saw these and they only seem to appear on the AUS Fender site.

Kind of a Jag meets Gibson hybrid. I think I like it!

I posted a link to the product page, but it might default to US site from up there.

If link doesn't work, try a web search for Fender Powercaster.

The other model is "The Sixty-Six". This one is a Jazz Bass/Jag/Tele/Strat hybrid.
Might be cool, but may be just a dog's breakfast too.

If you can get on to the AUS site have a look.

They're on the U.S. website if you search for Guitars > Shop By Model > Other.

Ahhh, I see that now Te, thanks.

I don't when they came out, but at least they're still flagged as "new", so I'm probably only at my usual place behind the curve!!!

Powercaster looks like one of the dozen hardtail "offsets" they've done in the last decade, elicits a real yawn.

It is a cool-looking guitar, especially in surf green.

I am a huge fan of 'anything goes' in guitar design, but a Gibson stop-tail and TOM bridge on a Factory Fender is just wrong. What would we think about Gibson putting a Strat vibrato bridge on a Les Paul?

Leave the crossbreeds to the small brands/custom goobers like me, and stick with tried and true. Going too far off the reservation almost made Gibson go tango uniform. Pay attention, Fender.
