Well, that sums it up. I tried a Maxon but it isn't voiced right. And I don't want to start buying flangrts blindly.

I have the TC Electronic Vortex flanger which is excellent. I don't use it for this particular sound, but it's probably available as a downloadable sound print or it might already be on there.

For the flanger sound I need for this certain song, the Vortex sounds like the vintage EHX Electric Mistress I used back in the 80's.

The Maxon should work. Perhaps your amp doesn't play well with it. Set the regen to about 70% and the speed pretty slow.

You cannot go wrong with the EHX EM.

We played this tune back when I was in the band. Fun song! The ladies would fill the dance floor on this one.
