i am interested in buying this guitar from a friend but there is no info online on it, im not sure if its full size, or much else about it, if anyone could help out that'd be great, the model name is Fender ESC-100.

Howdy slowdive, and welcome to the FDP!

The Fender ESC-100 (see pic at link below) is a classical-style guitar. ESC is an abbreviation for "Educational Series Classical," which means it's a base model intended as a student's first guitar. New, these were fairly inexpensive.

Like most all modern classicals, the strings are Nylon and the fingerboard is wide and flat compared to steel-string acoustics and electrics.

These were imported from Indonesia and are fine guitars for the price. If it's in good shape, pay no more than about $60-$70 for it. A case with it would be a nice bonus.

Have your friend measure the high E string between the nut to the bridge (scale length) to confirm this. If it's between 24" and 26" it's considered full size.
