Local boy is now a millionaire....sold the idea of blue dog poop bags to cities across the country. He makes the dispenser and bags and now has a nice home on Balboa Island in Newport Beach.

I read a study that stated there will actually be more pollution if these bags are outlawed.
Simply because they are used for so many other things besides grocery's and small trash bags are made with something like 5 times the amount of plastic as the shopping bags.

That, and the fact that the paper bags that we are being forced to use as a replacement consume far more resources to manufacture and deliver.

Another swell plan pulled out of someone's soy eating ass.

We use cloth grocery bags when we remember to bring them into the store. We usually forget.

Doesn't solve the garbage can liner issue though.

"guys .... you do know you can BUY plastic bags for household use, right?"

Plastic bags are already built into the cost of anything we buy. We've already paid for them.

I pay my town to pick up and process everything that is recyclable. Plastic bags -- all plastic bags, are recyclable -- but it's not cost effective for them.

Plastic bags bans are just another Greenie scam that has no positive result.

When a ban was considered in Park City, Utah I wrote a letter to the editor proposing a "tie the knot" campaign. The primary purpose of the ban was to reduce litter from saltating fugitive bags but they don't get too far with a midriff knot. Alas, the ban was enacted anyway.

Years ago I remember the war on paper bags. Killed too many trees.

BUT

Trees are a renewable resource.

Sustainability? Isn't that the new buzz word?

We have 5 songs, one dance number, and an advertising campaign. “Come see the Number Two show on Broadway!!”
