Sorry to hear this. Tom and I had gotten together a couple times for lunch in Chicago. Really nice man. Last we spoke a couple years ago, he was getting ready to retire, I. believe, to North Carolina.

RIP, TR. See you around the bend.

jellybones, the NC move never happened - the builder ripped them off, and everything was on hold.

HD, one of my clients just moved down to the Branson area. They too got swindled by a builder who completely abandoned the job. Then all the subcontractors show up with lawsuits trying to stick it to my client. I’m very sorry this happened to Tom.

Please let me know funeral arrangements when you get them.

Thanks.

I remember the name.

I did a search for him and came up zero.

He might have been banned.

"He was an epic thread starter, and quite a character, too."

That's what I recall; "enthusiastic" and "garrulous" also comes to mind. I remember his NC retirement plan- IIRC he had bought a lot?- so such a shame that he had a bad experience.

Condolences to the family.

HD, thank you very much for posting that. I forgot that Tom went to Fenwick. Have a bunch of friends who went there---to a person, they're all good men. No surprise that Tom went there, too.

A friend that I knew from first grade (had my 50th HS reunion last year) fell down the stairs a couple of months after the reunion and passed away the next day. I am very mindful when using stairs now.

You know what?

I met him, in person, maybe 18-20 years ago. We connected on a different bbs. The old Plexi Palace bbs.

Wow! When I saw his picture I just *knew* that I knew him from somewhere!
