I'm not sure if I'm relieved or distressed that such examples are not limited to Tennessee.

Was our country always populated by such creatures, and it is only the internet that brings so many to our attention? Or are we truly a devolving and doomed species?

Sorry, Chris, but Idaho has a mere 10 pages of photos in their section.

California has 143.

And, trust me: there are some that you DO NOT want to see...

"Well, we have less than 2M Idahoans compared to, what, about 50M Californians?"

OK, but the REAL difference isn't one of sheer numbers or that a larger percentage is willing to "cross the line" when it comes to good taste.

In CA, it doesn't seem to occur to most people that there ARE any lines...

"Mamas' don't let your babies go hang out in Walmart
Don't let 'em show butt cracks or cleavage so much
Let 'em be doctors and lawyers and such
Mamas' don't let your babies go hang out in Walmart
'Cause though they'll save cash they'll still be trailer trash
No matter what they might dream of"

We don’t have Walmarts here in NYC, but there’s one just over the bridge in New Jersey. It doesn’t really do it for me, as it’s not maintained well, they don’t keep the merch neatly organized, there are often half empty shelves, etc.

We don’t get the circus freak types that people post on the internet. Of course, I also don’t really go there and have only been 5-10 times over the years, so it’s completely possible I have no clue what is going on over there.

Locally, we have a Target and that’s where I go for the stuff I might have otherwise purchased in Walmart.

I don't know how we compare, but I assure you every single time my wife announces that she needs something from Walmart, I immediately drop what I'm doing and offer to drive her there.

We go in, she gets what she needs, I sit on the bench by the registers, near the restrooms, and patiently wait. I tell you my friends, that is the purest form of non-contrived entertainment found anywhere.

The Walmart near me is one of the trashiest ones I've ever been to, which is odd because it's a pretty nice, non-trashy neighborhood. For some reason all the weirdos come here to shop at Walmart.

The stores to the immediate east and west of me don't seem to have that problem.

I have 2 near me: a newer WM Marketplace and a full blown Wally a little further down the road. Due to nearby options I frequent the Marketplace one most often. Typically it's a geezer fest down there. The other takes shifts; geezers by day, and the traditional PoWM denizens when the sun goes down. I try to avoid the latter although the Old People of WalMart can be a trying group, what with their strategically placed carts and confounded yet masterful juxtapositions.

I call the WM closest to home - Opioid-Mart. The slowest people ever at the self check out lines.
There can be no other excuse for the nearly catatonic pace of these people. Stunning.
