B.B. was my all time favorite act to see live. I loved his stories and the tune he played during and after was icing on the cake.

His band was always killer.

If you've never read any interviews with him or viewed his instructional videos, check 'em out.

He was rare indeed in the guitar business because not only was he aware of his limitations--he also was fearless and had no guitar-hero ego. He usually joked about his limited technical abilities. The only thing he concerned himself with was that listeners liked the music.

I'm pretty sure he invented the finger vibrato style that runs parallel to the frets (fast bend and release). Up until he came along, guitar players were using vibrato identical to that of bowed instrument players (finger motion parallel to the string).

Here's one interview. He was just so humble and cool.
