If irritation occurs

discontinue use.

I was chatting with Achase4U about compressors and I mentioned installing a modification on the tank drain (lets the water out).

I've done this with every compressor (except pancakes) I've had.

This is an especially useful mod if you have a large stationary compressor. Getting down on the hands and knees to open that little valve once a week is murder on the back.

Here's a vid. Yes, I do all my own stunts.

Dude!

Funny!

There are other vids that show this idea, but they all just add a short extension and the valve is still on the dang floor. Makes no sense to me. Problem NOT solved.

Plumb it upward so the valve is in the area where civilized folks live and it's easy to reach.

CO2 ... is there anything it can't do?

That would be me -- but I added another right angle piece of pipe that runs through the garage wall and out to the driveway. I just hose the driveway down afterwards. For now, I can still bend over and turn the valve -- who knows in a year or so.

Good tip though -- I may do something similar but use the 1/2" black pipe I have laying around instead of copper.

Since I don't use it often, I just drain it and leave the valve open until I use it again.
