What has worked for you guys when submitting videos for gigs or management types?

Live sound versus demo lip synch?

Live gig or well-appointed rehearsal space?? Or just somebody's basement?

If I was going to submit a video for this purpose, it would be a professionally produced video with audio not recorded with a camera microphone. You want to make sure that your video makes the best impression possible. You could probably shoot it anywhere, but the quality of it needs to be top notch imo.

Not a time to go cheep. The gold standard might be the videos produced for The Lexington LAB band. Good luck.

I am not an agent, potential client or a venue owner, but if I were, I would want to see a video of a live performance with live sound from that performance. I would want to see how a band really looks and sounds in a live situation. These days it is just too easy to get a massaged, perfect-sounding audio track out of modest studio equipment. It's hard to know how "truthful" such recordings are. I know a lot of people can be wowed by slick production. I'm not one of them. I want to see the warts.
