I was in a local place the other day and they had a used CIJ ("Crafted") 50s Reissue Strat. It's got an "A" serial number. The place dates it to '85-'86, but I believe that would apply to a "Made" in Japan guitar. The "Crafted" plus the "A" I gather means '96-97.

Anyway, it's Vintage White, maple board with a round string tree (making it a '54 RI) and a soft V. The bridge has some chrome chipping off of the base plate, but it has "FENDER" stamped saddles. The pickguard has been replaced with a leopard one (I know, I know), and the pickup covers are black. The pole pieces are staggered, but nobody has been under the guard to see if the wiring is cloth or plastic.

Assuming the pickups are aftermarket, what is a general ballpark on this guitar? THIS IS NOT AN AD! :)

Unless they're asking an exorbitant price I'd jump on it.
The '54 RI's are great guitars. The neck alone is probably worth the price of the guitar. I see necks alone of fleabay at $350
