Thinking of getting a second amp exclusively to use with my Les Paul / SG<br /> <br /> I play in 2 bands one, is a wedding/corp band where I play a tele/LP through a Line 6 Flextone III (POD XT amp) and the other is a more casual affair where we play blues, rock and new country.<br /> <br /> We played this weekend with the second band using a blues junior for the tele and the Flextone for the LP and the tone on the Valve Blues Junior just blew the Flextone away.<br /> <br /> So as my singer also plays guitar, and we need 2 amps anyway thinking of getting a second valve amp and dedicating thank to the LP with its own pedalboard.<br /> <br /> thinking along the lines of 15-20 watts.<br /> <br /> Maybe the egnater tweaker or bogner alchemist ?<br /> <br /> Opinions ?<br /> |

Why not another blues jr? Lesters sound good thru them.Or maybe a Vox AC15. |

Dr Z has several in that wattage range...Carmen Ghia, Maz Jr, Monza, Z-28. Depends on what flips your switch the best...12AX7's or EF86's for preamp, EL84's or 6V6's for power.<br /> They're all great and unique. |

I'd like to get something diff to the BJ for variety<br /> <br /> Thought of the class 5 but though 5 watts wouldnt be enough on stage even miced.<br /> <br /> Will research the Carr and Dr.Z but dont think I can get them this side of the pond.<br /> <br /> |

Reissue Princeton? The Vox AC15C1 is pretty nice, once you dial it in where you want it. The Princeton will be a LOT lighter... |

i did the same thing. i love my Dr Z maz jr with a strat, but for my LP / SG i wanted that classic plexi sound. i got an Orange Tiny Terror head and oh boy! it smokes! |

Bugera sounds a little too much like it might be the Italian word for "booger."<br /> <br /> =o) |

I have a class 5 head, plenty loud for micing.<br /> <br /> I used it last week when I sat in with an old band I used to be a member of, before I left for Louisianna.<br /> <br /> It had enough volume to hear on stage and, well miced is miced.<br /> <br /> Might kick the tires on one. |

I've been playing my LP through my Carr Rambler and my modified CVR lately. Sounds sweet. <br /> <br /> LP's always sound good through a Twin Reverb, too. |

dont really want anything made by behringer with valves although i dont mind there mixers etc.<br /> <br /> seem like I need to go and test the class 5 as well as the egnater rebel 20 and tweaker <br /> <br /> vibrolux and twin will be be way too loud at 40 and 65 watts (and heavy)<br /> <br /> <br /> princeton looks like the ticket but might be out of budget<br /> thanks for the comments |

If you're looking at the Marshall Class 5 you should also consider the Pro Junior. I have both and I find them to overlap a lot in their characteristics. New, the prices are close, but the ProJr is more compact and, at 15 W, is distinctly louder. I just set up both side by side with an a/b box, using my LP, no pedals in the way. Both deliver a nice crunchy overdrive when dimed, but there is a clarity that the ProJr has, partly due to volume, and in spite of the speaker and cabinet size difference. If I had to pick one it would be the ProJr. |

not sure what a deluxe reverb would go for- a lp drri and a pedal are a good combo--just played at a blues jam with that and got a lot of compliments. |

Man up and get something with real El-34's, preferably 4 of them. And a 4x12 cabinet. |

"how would the pro junior differ to the blues junior"<br /> <br /> Blues Jr- more expensive, bigger speaker, reverb, master volume...there are ongoing Pro Junior and Blues Junior threads going on in the post 1985 Fender amps forum. <br /> |
