Ok I know the Tele Deluxe has the big headstock..

I am trying out what I am told is a deluxe 93 tele that is the pastel yellow color (love it) but the bridge pup has been swapped to have a red lace, the neck may be stock, it has cloth covered wires sounds great! Anyway what would make this guitar a deluxe tele? The only thing odd about it is the selector switch has a strat style cream colored tip.

Seems to me that this is an american standard. The neck is of standard size, not thick and not real slim, it play like a dream and sounds lovely in all three positions. I am thinking about buying it from him but I would rather there be less hype about the model, he bought it at a pawn shop many years ago. #N3939023

Also it has a tbx.

Yeah '93 Am Std. by the serial number and what I can see in the pics. Am Std neck for sure. Most likely it has had a PU swap. If nothing else has been messed with it could be a good deal.

Not a Deluxe and that(dlx)may have not even been made in '93. There was a Tele Plus but this don't look like one.

"Not a Deluxe and that(dlx)may have not even been made in '93. There was a Tele Plus but this don't look like one." Yeah I know its not a plus and all of the deluxe models I have seen have binding and or bling. The newer ones sport a compund radius or something...
