"I use Ernie Ball Super Slinkies (9-46) on all my Strats."<br /> <br /> What are the characteristics that sold you on these strings for all your Strats?<br /> <br />

I started with 10-46 (D'addario & EB) about 20 years ago. Then, I moved to 9-46 and then to 9-42. I'm thinking about going to 8.5-42.

whospink - Super Slinkies actually are 9-42 guage, so my post was a bit off.<br /> <br /> EB Super Slinkies stay in tune well, have a smooth, slinky feel with low tension, making them easy to bend, including when I use chord vibrato.

Among 9-42 guage strings I've used, D'addario has the lowest tension, followed by Super Slinky, Blue Steel & Elixir. 9-42 Elixir felt like 10-46 Slinky.

Went from 9-46 DRs to D'addario 9-46. Their 3 sets in a package is a good deal.

D'Addario EXL 120+ .0095 set. I use them on almost all of my Fender-type guitars.

I used EB 10-46 on one of my Strats. Changed them out to GHS boomers 9-42. A big change in tone from dark to light. The GHS set is a lot brighter sounding. Next change I'm going to EB 9-42.

D'Addario nickle 10's, usually. Recently, I put on a set of D'Addario 1/2 round 10's. Not sure if I like them or not, yet.

I've become a big fan of D'Addario 1/2 Rounds, 10s. I use them on most of my guitars, except for a few I have flats on.<br /> <br /> They seem to work very well on a Strat.<br /> <br />
