Directions
If the directions call for soaking the peas do so. If not, you can get started right away.
Put the peas, hamhock and hot water in a stock pot and turn heat to high.
Chop the onion and combine with other incredients. Combine the garlic, black pepper, creole seasoning and Old Bay seasoning with other ingredients.
Once the pot starts boiling then turn down heat and simmer for two hours. At about 1-1/2 hours remove the hamhock and cut the meat from the bone, chop the ham into small pieces and put the ham back into the pot.
Strain the soup to remove excess water and fat.
Add one cup milk to the remaining soup.
Now have a bowl. ;'D
